hello love.

woohoo! it's Monday!

hope that you really have a chance to enjoy your week, and that you can get into the groove quickly. this morning i spent some time at my church doing Vacation Bible Adventures. i get to be on the skit team and tell the stories, which i LOVE doing... it's really fun for me to volunteer doing something that i love and am good at.

well, today the cards i'm bringing you are *almost* one layer cards. which, if you've been following me, is NOT very normal for me. these feature only a few stamps, but i really love how they turned out :D

first off, the lined background stamp was inked up in two different shades of blue, and come from Impress Rubber Stamps. the floral stamp and the sentiments do as well. did you notice along the crease of the card the little bows i made? i bought some crochet thread from Walmart and used it to add a little extra touch to these soft cards :D

okay, these next 4 cards measure about 3"x3" and are SUPER easy to make. they use kraft paper as the base, Sassafras felt stickers, and a Heidi Grace sentiment.

don't they just make you smile? i just love them :D

okay, i'm off to the chiropractor and to take a nap, and to maybe hit up my craft studio later on. oh, and i might even make a trip to the library for some new summer reading and/ or a DVD or two :D

thanks for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments... i LOVE reading them!!

LOVE to a bloggie friend!

hey there... hope you are having a fabulous Sunday!

i'm doing quite well myself (thanks for asking ;) hehe), and especially so to share this card with you. you see, i'm finally doing something i should have done ages ago, and am sending a card to a bloggie friend! *gives self pat on the back*

this one i made at the Impress Stamp Night (you're probably tired of hearing about it... but oh well!) with LOTS of stamps, and just a few extras...

i used a lined background stamp, the medallion stamp i featured on these cards in THIS POST, and then a banner stamp that is sooo cute, along with those subtle open circles on the scalloped circle punch out, and then the "LOVE" sentiment. ALL from Impress. then... lovely buttons, cute rosebuds, like the ones i used HERE, and then some Sassy paper and a bit of lace.

it's funky, but i like it. here's hoping that the girly will too :D

well, that's it, this was a quick one. hope you have a great end to your weekend! i am going to be busy this next week, but i'm hoping to post a few more projects i've made ...so don't forget to stop by and leave your comments every once in a while :D

XOXO!

i LOVE you Christmas!

hi again! i've been sadly absent from the blog, but here i am--back with some yummies all over again :D (this post will be sort of short though--so enjoy lots of pictures and not much "talk"!)

this time i'm featuring a new banner i made for Christmas. now, i know it spells "LOVE" and it may look pink, green, and white to you, but it's Christmas themed.

i am already done with another banner that says "JOY" and will be working on a "PEACE" banner shortly. so, you get the idea...

i really am creating for Christmas--love, joy, peace. and aren't these fun? embellishment heaven, i'd say. i have a whole big pile of fun things on my desk--all pink and green :D

this banner gave me an opportunity to emboss on vellum for the first time--so pretty, i think. definitely will be doing this more often...
and here's the finished product:

anyway, thanks for stopping by after my too long absence. hope you enjoy! i'll be back soon, hopefully (*crosses fingers*)
XOXO
have a great Friday!

Love, Chickies, & Bachelorette Parties...

i have a friend who is getting married this weekend, and i am soo happy for her! she has been in a relationship with her fiance for about 8 years, and her big day is Saturday! i got to help kidnap her for a bachelorette party last night, and it was soo fun! (fondue, games, chocolate, and gifts, who wouldn't love it, right? oh, yeah--maybe a guy... oh well, that's why they're called BACHELORETTE parties :D) i made this card specially for her, and to hold the gift card i was giving her. the card has a built in pocket that was pefect for tucking something sweet inside.

Supplies: white and light pink cardstock, pink Impress card with pocket, Bazzill cardstock, textured & dotted; AC zebra print; Basic Grey "Urban Prairie" pp; DeNami Design button; twine; ribbon from Michael's - pink satin & and white w/ trim; Recollections lip embellishment from Michael's; $1 black fringe from Jo-Ann's, rhinestones from Michael's; Cricut cuts - Simply Sweet cartridge for the heart and "Love" sentiment; Making Memories stars and hearts - glittered chipboard embellishments, Fiskars "threading water" border punch.

i decided to use the Kazan's sketch #34 from 2sketches4you for the front, as well as the colors for the Caardvarks challenge, (even though i didn't meet the deadline: pink, black, and white, YAY!). it couldn't have made a happier marriage (ha, pun intended!) because i reallly wanted to keep this card for myself instead of give it away!
in the above picture, you can see where i wrote the note, and then the gift card tucked into the side pocket. i used some soft pinks as well as bright pinks, because really, that zebra print from AC needed some competition :D

oh, in other news, i went to see "The Time Traveler's Wife" with my sister (for free!) on Monday night. i was really surprised that i DIDN'T cry, because it was definitely a movie with themes that would normally make me tear up. but it was good, not something i'd see twice, or would recommend for *everyone*, but i enjoyed spending time with my sister :D

ooh, and speaking of love... i LOVE DeNami Design's chickies. seriously. LOVE them. i made a ton of cards recently using their stamps, and i have to say, there are so many possibilities, and i seriously doubt i will get tired of them, ever.

so here i used some tulle, floral stick pins with Maya Road butterflies, and a DeNami Design button with some blue polka dot ribbon and yellow twine for the embellishment.

the polka dot stamps are also DeNami Design, and the chickies are too... aren't those colors fun? i love the whole feel--it's very bubblebum-ish, but super sweet. also, if you have a hankering for more DeNami goodness, go check out my friend Paulina's blog... she just posted some really sweet designs using their stamps. PLUS, she's having a HUGE giveaway, and i mean, HUGE!

anyway, hope you enjoy, and thanks for looking!

2 sketches 4 you, bonus sketch!

so this is the first time that i've been able to make and post a bonus sketch over at the 2sketches4you site. what great designers! i had a really fun time making this card--the chickie stamp is from DeNami Design, and i use this cute little guy ALL the time... i was watching the Florida Gators win the National Championships last night as i was putting it all together... maybe that's why i put another touch of orange in this Valentine's card (or maybe just cause i love orange...)

after i played with kazan's sketch #17 the other day on this post, i kept on going with the same idea, and i think i may actually be able to give all my friends and family handmade valentine's cards this year! w00t! i love making cards with pinks and reds... they're fabulous colors :)

here's one last card i finished today after school... i SO look forward to coming home and having time at least to partially create something, if not a whole card/ layout. again, i'll probably give this as a valentine... i should stop posting pictures else i'll have spoiled the surprise!

2 sketches 4 you, laura's #15

yesterday i went to school (2 hours late because of black ice), and then i only stayed for 1 period. i got a sub because i couldn't (and still can't) hear anything out of my left ear. after i left school, i made an appointment with my doctor, was prescribed some antibiotic drops, and spent the rest of the day shopping, correcting research papers, trying to empty fluid out of my ear, decorating the entryway, and playing hand and foot (card game) with the fam .
...but LAST NIGHT, after i corrected papers (5 was enough) i started work on Laura's Sketch #15. i have my friend Paulina to thank for getting me hooked on their blog... it took me some time to actually figure out where i wanted everything, but i think it came together. my card looks pretty sweet (if i do say so myself). i got the lace in a 9 ft spool from Jo-Ann's for 25 cents (i <3 deals!)

p.s. siblings come home tomorrow! SO EXCITED!
