okay, so let me give you the low down...

When: The blog hop starts on September 9th at 6 AM, PST. However, you have until September 10, 2012, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).
Why: To be inspired by fun DeNami Design creations and also the chance to win mini shopping sprees on the DeNami Design website!
Prizes: We are giving away THREE $20 gift certificates to our website! We'll be giving away one gift certificate to a random participant (DT members not eligible) and then we'll also be giving away TWO gift certificates to TWO people who comment along the hop!
and let's get on with the fun--here's my project :D

i couldn't resist using this teacher chickie (i mean, hello, teacher here :D), and then i even did some other stamping (the apple and the rockin' guitar).  lots of green scraps from my drawers--yay for using it!

i constructed the front sentiment from a few different stamp sets.  the inside then echoes what the outside says...

no matter the teacher or the subject, gratitude is cherished in schools!

i'd love to hear what you think (plus you get entered for an awesome prize), so make sure to comment!  your next stop on the hop is the SUPER talented Wendy Elliot!  hooray! :D

so that's it... ski-daddle it outta here!  thanks for stopping by, xoxo

DeNami Blog Hop Cuddly Critters

welcome to the DeNami Design blog hop! every stop you make on the way is featuring some of the cute cuddly creatures that everyone seems to love, including me! so let's see what's going on...

if you're following along, you should have come from Anne Harada's blog, and now you're here! if you didn't start at the beginning, you can go back and start at the DeNami blog here!

i hope you're having as much fun as i am as we look at all the lovely creations that DeNami lovers have made :D so here we go, on to my cuddly creature project!

i was thinking of using a 'spring' chickie, but couldn't come up with a solid idea, so i switched gears and pulled out the cutest little snow chickie... he seriously makes me smile :D

i tried to make things a little vintage-y and i pulled out some Cosmo Cricket papers. i also tied a few ribbons together--satin and seam binding/ aka crinkle ribbon.

you can see i made a matching envelope (decorated both the front and back with some simple borders and ribbons) and i think it adds a ton to the project...

this card is completely in non-traditional 'Christmas' colors, but i absolutely love it! a few flowers here, some glitter there, oh! and don't forget the bling! :D

alright! thanks for stopping by today, i hope you have fun... be sure to hop on over to Teresa E's blog, and see what loveliness she's created!

santa claus is coming... (MFW Clean & Graphic)

here i am with post #1 for today... i'm trying to cram in a couple of cards for the Moxie Fab World Holiday Challenges.

the first challenge was to try out a clean and graphic style. now there is some serious talent going on over in the mr. linky section at MFW, so you should really check them out. but, i was really surprised to find that i could actually work with this challenge--better than i thought possible, actually.

i used some American Crafts paper, red & white cardstock, a santa chickie from DeNami Design, a retired stamp from Impress, a corner rounder, pop dots, and a fun little red clothespin. i'm just keeping it clean :D

what do you think? did i accomplish the task?

oh, and i just have to tell you--visit my friend Heidi's blog for some adorably cute cards... she participated in the challenges too, and she rocks!

daisy + denami design = delicious!

so i got to make a set of 4 cards like this with Paulina on saturday... fun stuff :D the best part was i got to use some different colors for the card base than normal (it's a bright/ almost flourescent green, hard to tell in the photo), and then some new paper (it's double sided from ...i can't remember, but it's new) with the cute polka-dot ribbon!

i wasn't sure what kind of sentiment i'd use, but i found the perfect match in the DeNami Design stamps--the "greetings" stamp + "the spring chickie." don't you just LOVE those chickies? i did... the flower overhead matches the front of the card perfectly--i couldn'tve planned it better.

my only complaint was that the double-sided paper is so cute, that i almost don't know which side to use... does that ever happen to you?
well, have a great day!

party hearty!

so Joey and i just finished making our party invitations for the Christmas party we're having. it was a design that took several sessions to perfect, but we think the end result is pretty amazing. i cut all the unique and beautiful snowflakes on the front, made all the chickies, and typed the information portion. Joey did a lot of glueing.

i've been shopping for the past couple of days and have gotten some REALLY good deals, and i'm really excited about Christmas this year... i think i've gotten some good gifts.

speaking of gifts, i'm going to a party tonight where the birthday girl did NOT want any gifts. so i sat down last night after the invitation frenzy and made a card.

anyway, i took pictures of some of my scrapbook layouts, so i'll post those soon. otherwise, Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

i love chickies

so yeah... as you can probably tell, i've been converted and am now posting pictures of my projects. at least this one.
i made these goodie bags for my swim team girls "end of the year banquet" where i handed out awards and said nice things about everyone.
i wasn't really looking forward to doing the speeches and handing out awards (mostly because it's awkward seeing parents who never came to meets, and the girls aren't used to seeing me every day like they had been during swim season), but what made it bearable was the fact that i was coping with all the anxiety by making something fun.
first i filled bags with candy (all candy and bags were from the Dollar Tree... great place!). then i printed out some little tags that said...
I had a SUPER "TWEET" time
coaching you this season. Go
BHS Braves Swimming 2008!
Love Coach
i punched a hole through the tag, tied ribbon through the hole, and tied the ribbon to the bags. then i had made these chickie tags from DeNami Design stamps (circle dot frame and chickie stamps) and layered them on colorful paper and attached them to the other end of the ribbon. i made sure to cover the attached ribbon by adding a backing of paper behind the chickies.
anyway... that's about all i've done. well, i did make some cards earlier, but i was playing around, nothing serious.
i've been working on some Christmas party invitations, and i'll post the pictures once they're completed.
in the mean time, have a great Thanksgiving holiday and God bless!
